Hypothetical Excogitation 2.0.0

As time goes by, Study and Practice, Knowledge lights the way of my path.  I am a hermit, a humble servant of the Universe, a rebel, holy outlaw, blasphemer, heretic an apostate.  It is time for a complete re-write.  This will take some time, so much to say, not enough time.

Blessed Be my brothers and sisters!  Peace, Love and Light, Frater Ajaashb

Life the Universe and Everything

In the “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” by Douglas Adams, a powerful computer was built to answer the ultimate question of Life, the Universe and Everything. It took a really remarkably long time to compute the answer. When it was finally computed, the answer was so mind numbingly simple, everyone was disappointed. See, the problem was, they did not actually know what the question was, they did not understand what they were asking. They needed to understand the question before they would know what the answer meant. Thankfully there was another computer that could be built to help them with their little problem and it was called Earth.

If you are not a fan of the Hitchhiker’s Guide, the answer that everyone was disappointed with was…… 42. For some reason this has stuck with me since high school. To this day I find this profoundly deep. Am I reading more into it than Douglas Adams intended? Maybe.

42 in not a prime number. Numerology wise, 4+2=6, still not a prime number. 6 x 7= 42. 7 is a prime number. Mix a prime and a non-prime number gives 42. Biblically 6 and 7 have significance. When I would hear xtians speak about these numbers, 6 usually had a bad connotation and 7 was good. 6 x 7=42 reminds me of the Yin and Yang. The two pillars, black and white, Jachin and Boaz. The representation of all possible pairs of opposites. The good and the bad equals life. 42 is life.

This is why the Earth was needed. Life itself would help in the understanding of the question to know what the answer meant.

I believe simplicity is a key to a better understanding of subjects that humanity tends to over complicate. Maybe Douglas Adams was pointing this out or was he attempting to point out that trying to find answers to the unknown, maybe even unknowable, was a futile endeavour?

A lot can be said for simplicity. Humanity seems to over complicate things especially when it comes to religion/politics, spirituality and philosophy. K.I.S.S. – Keep It Simple Stupid is not practiced. We are so used to answers being overly complicated that when we really do get a simple answer it is unbelievable and not understood, it takes volumes to explain a simple answer. Just look at jesus words to love one another (John 13:34). How much simpler can you get? But no! It is obvious we just don’t get it. Look at the volumes of Laws. See how full our jails are. If we truly understood “love one another” we would have little use for lawyers, judges, and jails.

Is it a waste of time and energy to try to find answers to the unknown and possibly the unknowable? Can you imagine where society would be today if no one ever questioned and looked for answers? Philosophy would never have happened. Our sciences would not be what they are today. So, my answer would be NO, it’s not a waste of time or energy. We need to question and seek answers no matter how daunting of a task even if we “know” NO answer can be found. By doing so you just might find out something else about you, life, the universe and everything.

Unfortunately, materialist fundamentalism permeates our society and inhibits our natural human curiosity and we cease to question the current scientific paradigm or faith based dogma, mainly out of some sort of fear. Fear of ridicule, losing status, death, harm to family, an angry god or losing a job/money. Thankfully this natural tendency towards curiosity still makes a few of us question and seek answers regardless of the consequences. Human evolution is dependant upon us doing this.

So, why did I not question things sooner than 35 years? Brainwashed from birth faith based dogma from an Abrahamic Death Cult. That answer is simple but needs more explanation to those that have been fortunate enough to never have been in a situation such as this.
